Letting Him Pass Through Me!

I am a Christian who grew up in a Christian family. I came to the States for my degree. Since then, I have been here for quite a few years. One thing I treasure the most about my life before and after coming to the States is that I have the Lord and the local churches wherever I go around the globe.

Today, I want to share with you one of the experiences of Christ I had recently in reading a book called Basic Principles of the Experience of Life by Witness Lee. Before reading that book, I had my own concept about what the experience of life was. I realized that my previous experience might be just spiritual experiences, but not many of them could be called the real experiences of life mentioned in the book. For instance, in the matter of repentance, I repented in a religious way when I sinned or did something not according to Him. Because I knew my repentance was not spiritual, I applied His precious blood to wash me. According to the scriptures, the Lord is faithful and righteous to forgive my sins (1 John 1:9). However, I still did not have His footprints in the matters for which I repented. In one of the chapters, Witness Lee tells us, “Real repentance is a repentance in which we experience God, a repentance in which God passes through us and we pass through God. It is a repentance in which we have been met by God and we meet God. After this kind of repentance, something of God Himself is mingled with us.” I realized that many times I repented by myself according to what was right and what was not, and in that repentance I experienced nothing of God. Later, I prayed, “Lord, in my experience of You, I want to have You pass through my being and through my heart.” Then I did experience Him in the way I prayed. I repented under His light shining in my being. I applied His blood to cleanse me. The more I received the light, the more He had ground in me. Brother Lee also said that it is not that we do something to change ourselves, it is God Himself mingled with us to cause us to have a change.

Hallelujah for the real change! I do not need to strive to try to improve myself. He is the One doing the work. All I need to do is just open to receive His dispensing, His shining, His anointing. He can pass through me and I can pass through Him. Hallelujah for such a mingling!
